Weekly Message: May 10, 2026
Good evening Wildcat Families, this is Principal McNeill with your weekly updates. I would like to wish all the mothers a very Happy Mother's Day. Just a quick reminder that student devices have been collected. If you find any school devices or chargers at home, please send them back with your student. We need all devices available for testing, and your help makes a big difference.
The 8th grade formal dance will be held Saturday at Eastern from 5pm to 7pm. Students need to meet the requirements of no unexcused absences, no OSS, and no ISS between the dates of April 23rd and May 15th. The cost of the event is $20.00, and this includes food, refreshment, and admission. Monday is the last day to pay for the dance. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Buchanan or Ms. Waddell.
Attention 8th grade parents, the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will be held on June 9th, here at Eastern. There will be two separate ceremonies, scheduled for 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM, depending on your student’s team. Additional details, including team assignments, arrival times, and guest information will be shared soon. We look forward to celebrating this important milestone with you and your student.
Beginner Band Concert will be held Tuesday at 6 PM, here at Eastern. Intermediate and Developing Band Concert will be held Thursday, at Eastern High. Students should arrive no later than 5:30 for check in. Attire for both concerts is all black.
EOG testing will begin the week of May 26th. If you are able to assist as a testing proctor, please contact Ms. Riggs in the front office.
Monday our softball and baseball teams will play Kiser at Kiser. Wednesday our track team will have a meet at Southwest. Please come out and support our Wildcats.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and we are excited to recognize the incredible teachers and staff who work each day to support, encourage, and inspire our students. Our teachers go above and beyond to ensure students are learning, growing, and feeling supported academically, socially, and emotionally. We invite you to join us in showing appreciation by sending a kind note, email, or small token of gratitude. A simple “thank you” truly goes a long way and means so much to our staff.
